Job description

Web Content Specialist

Carthage College seeks a Web Content Specialist to join our award-winning communications and marketing team.

This position will offer you the challenge for creating, updating, and maintaining the content on the College's website, as well as for ensuring that content is optimized for search engines . This person will become the key point of contact between the Office of Communications and the technical teams responsible for the website's functionality.

The ideal candidate will know how to write for a variety of audiences, and edit to ensure accuracy and flawless presentation. This person will approach all assignments with keen attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and a great eye for design.

While this is primarily a content position, web development and design skills are a definite plus. Knowledge and experience in SEO, mobile site optimization, and working with content management systems is required. Experience in HTML and CSS is preferred.

The College's website is essential to recruiting new students, communicating important information to current Carthaginians, and connecting alumni across the world. By ensuring web content is accurate, engaging, and easy for visitors to find and navigate, the Web Content Specialist will play a key role in raising the visibility of the College, increasing engagement among target audiences, and advancing priorities according to the College's strategic plan.

The Web Content Specialist reports to the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications.
