Job Summary
Audio Visual Support Technician - SVC to provide technical support to all aspects of AV and technology services in operational support of all Eventions Events (especially high-touch, VIP-deemed events), AV Meetings, catering, and Event / Conference Planning and Production services. This role is located in the Silicon Valley (Sunnyvale, California).
Develop & maintain excellent relationship with all clients and be able to support them as the technology subject matter expert for all things events and audio / visual support – both in resourcing and in equipment. Collaborate with peer teams to understand overall business impact when supporting client events.
Responsibilities
- The Audio Visual Support Technician - SVC is directly responsible for supporting all AV-related events in tandem with event planners, production team and editors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert on event utilization of supported technologies, including Teams, HD video recording, live video and audio streaming, video teleconferencing (VTC), and telepresence
- Provide customer service and support including technical troubleshooting and operational assistance, including event support
- Contribute to team communications and deliverables
- Track equipment, including maintaining asset tracking program. Complete weekly equipment checks, and completing periodic audits of inventory lists
- Maintain current industry and campus knowledge and contribute to business improvements, ensuring all support services are effective and competitive
- Assist with the onboarding of new services, creating process documentation, and identifying equipment for purchase
- Identify root issues in the delivery of support services and assist with development and implementation of corresponding solutions
- Maintain key relationships with stakeholders, including Microsoft product groups, event teams, Microsoft Production Studios, Microsoft Learning, third-party vendors, etc.
- Compile and send service post-event completion mails. Assist with client follow-up and issues resolution
- Accountable to overall team performance during event and non-event support
- Technical production for high-level and complex events
- Attend pre-event meetings to ensure all needs are identified and addressed
- Support the Microsoft mission and Compass Group objectives of customer service, operational excellence, teamwork, process improvement, leading by example and exceptional character
- Adhere to Microsoft information security policies and best practices
- Escalate unresolvable and/or out-of-scope issues to management in a timely fashion
- Submit LOB-specific operational reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the AV industry
- Advanced knowledge and experience with AV set-ups and strikes
- Background customer service or hospitality experience required
- Certification in AV technology or related courses (preferred).
- Yamaha CL3 Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in operating Yamaha CL3 audio boards and other associated audio equipment.
- Dante Certification: Certification in Dante audio networking technology.
- Event Management: Proven experience in managing audio aspects of events, including live streaming, video conferencing, and virtual/hybrid meetings.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex audio issues efficiently, leveraging Yamaha CL3 features and Dante network expertise.
- Communication Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear communication of audio requirements.
- Commitment to Quality: Dedication to maintaining the highest standards of audio quality and customer satisfaction.
- Advance knowledge of Audio - microphones, speakers, sound systems, channel mixers, etc.
- Advance Knowledge of Video - LCD, LED, projectors, screens, monitors, Camera etc.
- Advance knowledge, set-up and operation of Streaming, Video Conferencing, Webcasting, & Virtual/ Hybrid meetings
- Lighting - GOBO, gels, uplighting, basic lighting kits, stage lighting, etc.
- Computers - Advanced knowledge of PC and Mac software for streaming & web casting
- Assist with inventory control, transport and logistics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- This position requires the ability to work long hours on your feet
- This position requires the ability to consistently lift up to 75 pounds
- This position requires the ability to work a varied schedule (early AM & late PM)
- This position requires the applicant to be authorized to work in the United States
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required to operate a Company vehicle.
