Timken Power Systems, Schulz Electric brand, has a current opening for a Quality Assurance Inspector based out of East Haven, CT regional service center. The primary role of this position is to provide quality oversight and guidance for the overhaul, rewind, and manufacture of Electric Motors/Generators and other electrical power transmission equipment including testing and inspection or repair parts and materials. This position reports to the Schulz Quality and Engineering Manager. The incumbent works with all members of the site team to achieve promised on-time delivery commitments and financial objectives. Occasional travel (<10%) to vendor sites and periodic company training events may be required.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform in-process inspections of both safety-related and non-safety-related equipment in accordance with approved procedures
Understand and support Schulz Electric’s quality policies as they apply to the assigned function
Verify compliance to applicable procedures, instructions and specifications
Perform special inspections as required
Maintain the cleanliness of the QA storage areas
Verify that the proper materials and components are used during processing of safety-related equipment
Witness and document the results of test and inspection activities on safety-related jobs
Perform receipt inspections of product and final inspections of product prior to shipping
Perform Commercial Grade Item evaluations, inspections and tests for material that is to be dedicated for safety-related use
Perform receipt inspections of safety-related materials and components
Technical/Functional Skills:
Ability to use various measuring and test equipment as required
Good oral & written communication skills are required and teamwork approach with on-site team
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Skilled in all
basic MS Office products
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
Electro-mechanical experience desired
Familiarity with various quality assurance programs desired
