Job Overview

Manage the operation of publication activities.

Essential Functions
  • Lead role in assuring the university is professionally represented and presented in publications.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures.
  • Approve publications produced by the department.
  • Editorially evaluate and approve materials for all publications of the department.
  • Contribute articles or publication copy incorporating results of interviews and/or research.
  • Liaison with university community to facilitate adequate coverage of university activities in publications.
  • Respond to inquiries from faculty, students, public and outside media.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English Composition, Professional Writing, Creative Writing, or related field.
  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience

Four (4) years of relevant experience reviewing and editing documents, articles, books, etc. prior to publication.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
