Job Title: Greenhouse Technician Work Location: Memphis, TN
Shift: M-F, 7:30am to 4pmWe are seeking a
Greenhouse Technician for our client in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will be working in lab and greenhouse performing the following duties:
- Working inside and outside the greenhouse and headhouse to support trait introgression of plant species
- Sampling plant tissue for DNA and protein testing
- Planting engineered cotton seeds and maintaining suitable conditions for growth; sampling and testing
- Assisting in planting, inoculating, and evaluating plants to screen for disease resistances
- Maintaining suitable conditions for proper plant growth
- Assisting in lab, headhouse and greenhouse sanitation practices including devitalization processing of all regulated breeding materials.
- Must pay attention to the details and be able to follow safety and stewardship rules, stand for long periods of time
- The environment can sometimes be hot in greenhouse.
- Candidates may get dirty due to working with plants and soil.
