Please Note: It is imperative that this individual has taken the nascla.org test for state licensing. The candidate must be able to carry their own tools and perform some carpentry onsite. Strong computer skills are a must as is a willingness to travel. Their General Contracting division is thriving with commercial renovation and new build projects happening across Ontario and throughout the US.
Key Responsibilities of the position include:
- Manage on-site projects from start to finish meeting project schedule, troubleshooting issues, ensuring subcontractors meet contract commitments and owner/management is informed of project status.
- Quality control for all trades.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, clients, vendors and Subcontractors.
- Responsible for safety program compliance.
- Responsible for scope of work verification of Subcontractors.
- Communicate with Subcontractor in all aspects including, scheduling, deliveries, change orders and plan revisions.
- Participate in weekly meetings with owner, management and Project Manager.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Has taken the nascla.org test for GC license.
- Willing to travel.
- Able to carry tools or Able to perform some carpentry work on the job.
- Has some skills using the computer.
- Experienced as a Site Superintendent (Travelling)
- Expert knowledge in commercial building systems and construction plans and documentation.
- Demonstrated excellence in managing the client relationship during a project.
- Proactive with ability to anticipate and solve problems before they arise.
- Capacity to coordinate multiple tasks through superior time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Works collaboratively and holds oneself to very high standards.
- Experience in Retail and Commercial Construction.
