Job description
The Math and Science Center instructor will develop and implement content-area curriculum for high school students who are participating in a five-week educational institute at KU during the summer, and serve as a role model for participants. Classes are held Monday -Friday, June 3rd -July 5th, 2024. Orientation for instructors is tentatively scheduled for May 28 and 29, 2024. The pay rate is: $20-$25 per hour depending on qualifications. These positions are on-going temporary summer appointments. In addition, the successful candidate will adhere to the principles of promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in education.
Primary Objective: Prepare students in subject areas they may expect to encounter during the upcoming academic year with a focus on learning study skills that will help students succeed in these classes. Secondary Objective: Motivate students toward college and assist in building their self-esteem and sense of achievement Open for the following Subject Areas: 1 Foreign Language (American Sign Language, Latin, Italian, Japanese, etc.)Job tags
