Java API / Kafka Developer
Position Description
This is an on-site role in Pittsburgh, PA. This is not a remote position.
CGI is looking for an experienced Java API and Kafka developer to join our financial services team and provide world class leadership and hands-on expertise to our top tier US bank clients.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Developing application code & unit tests in Java
- Developing with Spring Boot
- Developing with Kafka
- Leading and collaboration on efforts in in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying software.
- Communication with client stakeholders and partners
- Ensuring that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
- Iterative feature development on an agile team.
- Developing testable features with lean requirements and supervision.
- Daily agile SCRUM participation
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 5+ years experience as Java developer
- 2+ years experience with SpringBoot and APIs
- 1+ years experience with Kafka
- Strong aptitude for learning on the fly, embracing new technologies, and willingness to make stretch goals
- Strong experience of writing and maintaining unit tests.
- Experience with GIT version control
- Experience with Jenkins and Pipelines
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $84,000 - $125,300.
