Job description

Under the direct supervision of the CFO, the Grant and Accounting Manager helps to

organize and maintain financial records related to accounting, budgeting, financial

auditing, and reporting for the organization and specific grants, as assigned. The Grant

and Accounting Manager recommends and implements accounting and financial systems

to meet contract compliance requirements and serves as financial advisor to the

executive management team. This position reports directly to the CFO and is onsite.

Training Period: You'll be expected to train onsite for the first 90 days of employment.

Specific duties for the role, include but are not limited to:

Clerical Responsibilities

● Keep the financial records organized and perform general office support like

filing and other administrative tasks

● Record accounts payable transactions in general ledger

● Classify journal entries

● Prepare and process payroll information for all departments

● Purchase approved supply request

● Print checks to be signed and distribute them

● Process purchase orders for supplies needed

● Verify receipts for items purchased

● Assist with the preparation of the annual audit

● Apply accounting principles, regulations, and policies to all work duties

● Keep sensitive information confidential

● Assist with invoices

● Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental

procedures

● Performs other duties as assigned

Accounting-specific

● Review and reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits

● Review and reconcile cash receipts to gift entry, and post gift entries to the GL

● Serve as main contact for payroll-related assistance and information to staff and

payroll services

● Review payroll for accuracy before submission to CFO for approval

● Prepare bi-monthly payroll journal entries with allocation
