Job Description Summary

As a critical component of our IT infrastructure, the Cloud Security Engineer, specializing in Azure, ensures that our cloud environments maintain the highest levels of robustness, resilience, and security standards. Drawing from a deep expertise in Azure cloud solutions and industry-leading security practices, this individual will be responsible for crafting, executing, and sustaining a comprehensive cloud security strategy, safeguarding our assets and promoting efficient business operations. This is either in Overland Park KS or can be remote.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Design, implement, and maintain security protocols and tools to protect sensitive data in Azure cloud environments.

- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats and ensure continuous monitoring.

- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline.

- Stay updated on Azure-specific and general cloud security trends, emerging threats, and ensure the organization's readiness to tackle new challenges.

- Provide technical guidance and recommendations for secure cloud configurations and deployments.

- Develop and implement incident response protocols for security breaches or anomalies in Azure environments.

- Design and deploy Azure Policy and Blueprints, ensuring that resources within the Azure environments adhere to organization security and policy

- Educate staff on cloud security best practices, promoting a culture of security awareness across the organization.

- Collaborate with Azure support teams to resolve any security-related issues and ensure optimal service delivery.

- Create documentation and reports related to cloud security processes, incidents, and metrics for management review.

Education/Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, coupled with 5+ years of experience in information technology.

- A minimum of 3 years dedicated experience as a Cloud Security Engineer, with an emphasis on Azure environments.

- Recognized certifications such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or CCSP are preferred.

- Demonstrable knowledge of Azure infrastructure, IAM, Network Security Groups, Azure Security Center, and other relevant Azure security services.

- Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or similar, for automation and streamlined security tasks.

- A proven track record in designing and implementing cloud security strategies tailored for large-scale enterprise applications.
