Director of Golf
Country Club in Rhinelander, Wisconsin is looking for a Director of Golf.
Position Overview:
To manage and oversee all facility operations including services, activities and relationships between the facility, its patrons, team members and community, while reporting to President of the Board of Directors and conducting him/herself in a professional fashion; coordinating and administering company policies and procedures as established by the Board; producing all reporting requirements in a timely manner; training of team members; holding weekly meetings and directing the work of department managers; communication of goals to the entire team; preparing, implementing and monitoring the budget; monitoring the quality of products and services to ensure maximum customer satisfaction in all departments. Also securing and protecting assets, including financials, the facilities and equipment. Dependent on weather, the golf course is scheduled to open in April and close at the end of October. The Professional is expected to be on property March 1 to October 31. This position also requires some business to be conducted during the off-season.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Provides quality leadership and a positive upbeat image. Fulfills members’ needs by providing the finest services.
• Cooperates with members, guests and the President while leveraging prior experience to render professional advice, opinions and services which may lend to the enhancement and improvement of the club.
• Oversight of golf shop and restaurant.
• Has business acumen to manage the club with business and strategic planning and monthly financial reporting with internal controls to achieve results.
• Generates Revenues and profits for the club.
• Develops and enhances programming for the membership.
• Increases the membership roster through recruiting and retention.
• Maintains the highest level of employee performance and morale by setting the tone through positive personal philosophy and values.
• Helps to develop capital and operational budgets for the Club and, after approval, manages their implementation.
• Attends Committee meetings.
• Continued development by participation in appropriate seminars and conferences, thereby enhancing his/her value and quality of services to the membership.
Requirements:
PGA Member preferred.
3 to 5 years of General Manager, Head Professional or Assistant Professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field preferred.
Interpersonal skills & Customer skills.
Computer Applications.
Verbal & Written Communications.
Attention to detail.
Planning and organizational ability.
Compensation:
$50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year.
