Location: Davis, CA (hybrid schedule)
Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: $71,600 - $133,000 DOE

Description:
The Senior Buyer - Commodity Specialist is responsible for sourcing new technologies and suppliers for the specific commodities assigned and for the procurement of materials in support of production schedules by obtaining parts to spec, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing from vetted and qualified suppliers. This position will interact with all Departments within the Company, Vendors and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the Schilling Robotics Supply Chain meets Customer requirement. This position may on occasion support indirect spend categories in addition to production materials and tools.
Job Description
- Work with the Engineering Department at Schilling to identify new and emerging technologies to meet the design requirements of Schilling Robotics subsea systems.
- Evaluates competitive pricing through quoting and continual supplier evaluation.
- Negotiate with supplier as needed to provide Schilling the lowest overall cost
- Create effective commodity strategies to meet Schilling Product technical specifications and meet the future needs as outlined in the Schilling Robotics Technology/Product roadmap.
- Leverage TechnipFMC resources to implement best practices, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Work with Engineering teams though-out the New Product Development process.
- Analyzes production requirements generated by the MRP system and place orders accordingly.
- Conducts supplier scorecard meetings and quarterly business reviews as appropriate.
- Maintain weekly measurements as required.
- Work with Operations team to improve on Standard Work Processes.
- Working familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Qualifications: - BS in Business or Finance or Supply Chain
- 7+ years of work experience in purchasing or relevant field (planning).
- Five or more years of experience with an ERP/MRP or equivalent system.
- Proven performance in implementing new strategies that will reduce parts and inventory costs without sacrificing on-time delivery.
- Hands-On experience with one or more of the following commodity groups: Machined Parts, Additive Manufacturing, Hydraulic Motors and Controls, Electronic parts and Assemblies, COTS parts.
- Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated skills as a highly collaborative team member that works well with cross functional groups.
- Basic understanding of accounting procedures.
- Demonstrated strong proficiency of managing to KPI's for supply chain.
- Able to commute to office several days a week, this role is not remote
Preferred Qualifications: - Multiple Commodity and $M spend experience
- APICS and/or CPIM certification.
- Lean Manufacturing and Process experience
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Ability to understand Product Specifications, familiarity with engineering drawings
- Familiar with First Article Inspection Procedures and Dock to Stock Procedures
