St. Francis Family Medicine Residency Program Director (25 hours per week) reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.

The Family Practice Residency at St. Francis Hospital is one of the oldest residency programs in the country and is accredited by the ACGME. The three-year program enrolls six residents in each year. Working with faculty and staff, the residency supports a busy Family Practice program within the hospital.

The Director, Family Practice Residency provides leadership and direction to the Family Residency program at St. Francis Hospital, with the goal of training outstanding Family Practice physicians.

Working collaboratively with the faculty, the Director develops and implements the program of learning, serves as mentor to residents, and guides the administrative and technical requirements of the program.

The major responsibilities include patient care, education and supervision of residents, mission integration, curriculum design and implementation, program accreditation, administrative leadership of program, safety. The Family Practice Residency Director is accountable for the vision and direction for the residency program, overseeing and ensuring the quality of didactic and clinical education provided and building and implementing a curriculum and program of clinical experiences in compliance with ACGME standards. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the organization and administrative leadership for the program, including the management of complex schedules, budget, and human resource needs and honoring the St. Francis mission and core values, especially the commitment to the poor and underserved.

Qualifications:

M.D. or D.O., Board Certification in the specialty by the American Board of Family Medicine;

Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment;

Educational and administrative experience to lead the program; a minimum of two years full-time professional activity in Family Practice, as well as teaching experience in a Family Practice residency;

Ability to lead, teach and mentor resident physicians with a particular attention to mission and

core values.
