Responsibilities and Duties
- WHO/WHAT: Did you know the Olympic torch always gets lit in Olympia, Greece? Then, in true relay-style fashion, it travels across the world to light the hosting country’s flame. This highly organized, faith-centric family of four is extremely proud of their Greek heritage and would love their nanny to share an interest in their culture. There are two kids under two, but you wouldn’t know it because this place is spotless! You’ll work Mondays and Thursdays, 9 am to 5 pm in a role that could last for half a decade or longer! Grandma watches the kiddos the other days of the week, and you’ll have the option to pick up additional hours—up to 16 per month—when she’s out of town. Big sister is 15 months old while her baby brother just turned two months old. Naps are on schedule, like everything else in this smoothy-run home, and the 15 month old takes about a 2.5 hour nap a day. For the little guy, you’ll hold, comfort, feed, burp, change, and guide his trips to and from dreamland with his own schedule of feedings, naps, and developmental play. When awake, both kiddos are very high-energy and will require your undivided attention. You’ll sing, dance, and keep them laughing and learning through play and song (think Ms. Rachel). Mom and Dad both work hybrid roles and will come by during your shift to say, “HI!” Personality compatibility is key as Mom hopes to nurse for as long as possible. That means she’ll join you for lunch and maybe even the occasional trip to the park. The neighborhood is very walkable, and you don’t need to drive or have your own vehicle. Your assistance with the children’s laundry, washing bottles, and restocking nursery supplies would also be greatly appreciated. There are no pets, in fact, sorry cat lovers but Dad has a severe allergy. Germs don’t stand a chance in this place and the ideal nanny will share that sentiment. So if this all sounds like you then APPLY today and tell us why you “torch” the competition.
The Ideal Nanny Is... COMPATIBLE! You’re organized, energetic, and creative in designing and presenting age-appropriate activities that feel like play. This family eats a very healthy diet and would like the nanny to set a similar example for their children. You’ll score massive bonus points if you’re familiar with Greek culture. These parents have never had anyone who wasn’t family around their children and will need time to build trust with their nanny. As an experienced, nurturing, and loving human being, you’re sensitive and patient about working through this initial nervousness. You’re also a non-smker, germ annihilator, and enjoy getting fresh air during regular walks. So if you think you’re the answer to this family’s Greek Orthodox prayers, then APPLY right now!
