DESCRIPTION:
The Executive Director, Foundation plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision and strategic planning of the organization, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals. Integral to this position is overseeing financial management, including budgeting and reporting, to ensure the effective allocation of resources. The Director leads fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholders to secure financial support for the foundation's initiatives. A deep commitment to philanthropy drives the Director's engagement in grantmaking operations, where they oversee the process of evaluating proposals, making funding decisions, and monitoring program outcomes. This multifaceted role requires strong leadership, communication, and managerial skills to effectively drive the foundation's impact and uphold its commitment to creating positive change in the community.
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES:
Identify potential donors, conduct research, and analyze data to create donor profiles, utilizing CRM systems for donor record maintenance and executing communication campaigns.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive donor recognition program to engage donors at all levels and ensure ongoing support.
Plan and execute fundraising events, including donor cultivation events, galas, and campaigns, to maximize donor engagement and retention.
Research and pursue grant funding opportunities from various sources, preparing proposals and managing the application process from start to finish.
Provide leadership and guidance to board members, staff, and volunteers in fundraising best practices, fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
Monitor and evaluate fundraising initiatives, analyzing metrics and performance indicators to optimize future strategies.
Develop strategic partnerships with other nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to leverage resources and maximize the impact of the foundation's programs and initiatives.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in philanthropy, fundraising, and nonprofit management, providing recommendations for innovative approaches to advance the foundation's mission.
Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the foundation's operations and programming, ensuring that all initiatives prioritize equity and address systemic disparities in access to resources and opportunities.
Oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process.
Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values.
Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs.
Provides training and support to staff members involved in grant management activities, ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and procedures related to grant acquisition and compliance.
Works closely with the finance team to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of grant-related expenses in compliance with grant requirements and financial procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.
