Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and receptionist support for the Office of Admissions. The position reports to the Director of Admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Create and maintain a customer service environment in the Office of Admissions with both external constituents (prospective students, applicants, parents, and interviewers) and internal colleagues (Office of Admissions team members as well as MWU faculty, staff, and students)

+ Provide primary telephone and reception support for the Office of Admissions to include extensive telephone interaction with prospective students

+ Open, collate, and distribute office mail

+ Perform data entry i.e. maintain admissions information within the electronic database

+ Manage the correspondence flow with prospective students and applicants including the following: mail merges, follow-up mailings, maintaining applicant files and generation of reports

+ Assist with the coordination of the interview process and the scheduling of advising appointments

+ Produce name badges and maintain office supplies

+ Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required with at least 1-2 years administrative support experience required. One year certificate from college or technical school and/or Associate degree and 3-5 years relevant work experience desired. Experience working in a team and customer service oriented environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior multi-phone line experience required.

Computer Skills

Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). CARS experience preferred.
