Position Summary/Description:

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time fixed-term faculty members at the rank of Clinical Instructor to work in the new UNC Suicide Prevention Institute. As part of a shared commitment to behavioral health and the well-being of children and families, the UNC Suicide Prevention Institute is partnering with the UNC School of Medicine Psychiatry department with the primary purpose of providing services to adults and children that have recently had a medically serious suicide attempt with close follow up and transitioning back into the community.

Principal duties of the positions will include:


Strong engagement with social work principles and their application to complex problems required for case management and interdisciplinary collaborations and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Education and Experience:

Although not required for the positions, UNC Department of Psychiatry is committed to clinical service and teaching. Experience and interest in teaching or supervision of social work externs, psychology or master's level interns, and medical residents can be an integral part of the positions based on applicants' preference.
