Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our client as a Bank Accountant at a Wilmington, Delaware branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This long-term contract role plays a crucial part in supporting the financial health and stability of the bank.

Responsibilities:

Financial Record Maintenance:

-Maintain and update accurate financial records for the bank, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

-Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by reviewing and verifying transactions.

Financial Reporting:

-Prepare regular financial statements, reports, and analyses to provide insights into the bank’s financial performance.

-Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

-Collaborate with other departments to gather information and assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

-Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports as needed.

Audit Support:

-Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.

-Work closely with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.

Compliance:

-Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure the bank’s accounting practices remain in compliance with relevant laws and standards.

-Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

Financial Analysis:

-Conduct financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

-Provide recommendations to management for improving financial performance.

Collaboration:

-Work collaboratively with other departments, such as finance, risk management, and operations, to achieve overall organizational goals.

-Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

-Proven experience in accounting, preferably in the banking industry.

-Strong knowledge of accounting principles ( OFAC Regulation, BSA Bank Secrecy Act), financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

-Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

-Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
