Job description
The Business Development Specialist is a creative and energetic employee who is dedicated to servicing producers every day. He or she acts as a brand ambassador by initiating contact with prospects and advocates to discuss the Hurley & Associates philosophy and encouraging them to schedule an appointment to meet face-to-face with consultants. The ideal candidate for this role will enjoy proactively engaging people in conversation and is driven by opportunity. This is potentially a remote position.
Responsibilities - Uphold and exemplify Hurley’s mission, vision, and Hurley Advantage playbook
- Promote awareness of Hurley & Associates and a positive community perception
- Creates an intentional plan to develop new business within an assigned area
- Visit producers at their shops, farms, and places of congregation, engaging them in conversations about their farm operation and exposing them to Hurley & Associates
- Explain features and benefits of the Hurley philosophy, while soliciting information from the producers, lenders, or other producer advocates on their individual needs
- Efficiently track and record producer information. Build and manage prospect data, keeping accurate records and notes of contact information and prospect activity
- Generate qualified leads for the Wayne team. Coordinate appointments with the Team Leader to assign to the appropriate consultant. Attend the first appointment to introduce the lead to the consultant
- Provide Grain Consultants a summary of the producer(s) and their farm operation before attending the first meeting
- Build rapport and maintain positive relationships with the regional producers, lenders, and other farm advocates
- Ideally seek out operations that we can partner with long term
- Ensure to relay any questions or concerns that arise to the Team Leader or appropriate consultant
Educational and Experience Requirements - Customer relationship management experience in a client-facing environment
- Must be outgoing, energetic, and self-motivated
- A+ communication, customer service skills, and follow-up. Communication skills include face-to-face dialogue, written correspondence, and telephone conversations
- Must have reliable transportation, which is kept clean
