Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Workday Finance processes and understanding of institutional, state, and federal policies.
Solid grasp of accounting principles and practices.
Proven ability to effectively interpret and communicate finance-related policies and guidance.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and positively with diverse individuals.
Prior supervisory experience.
Experience with analytical software such as Workday, ServiceNow, JIRA, SQL, etc.
Background in financial and strategic operations within higher education.

Job Description:

Summary

This position collaborates with Finance Managers and ISU Central Finance Offices to identify training needs and operational priorities to ensure consistency throughout the finance service teams. It provides input to leadership on changes proposed by other units that could impact Finance Delivery. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance Service Delivery and supervises three Assistant Financial Operations Managers. Utilizing broad knowledge, this position provides guidance on central finance, procurement, and grants policies and procedures. It helps manage relationships with central finance offices to suggest and support improvements to business processes.

Level Guidelines
• Aware of key annual objectives of department or work unit
• Understands linkage between daily activities and achievement of annual objectives of department/work unit and explains to direct reports
• Focus on ISU’s mission and meeting department or work unit goals
• Supervises a small department or work team
• Often is a working supervisor with direct, previous experience performing work of those supervised
• Has full management responsibility for direct reports, specifically the authority to hire, fire, and counsel; may share part of responsibility with higher level management
• Requests approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope per policy

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
