Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Bradley University seeks a creative thought-leader for the AVP of Marketing & Communications position. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing, Communication and Retention, and serving as a leader within the newly integrated division, this position will lead in the management of the daily operations for the office of marketing and communications.
Responsibilities: - Oversee and support the direction for audience management with key audiences in mind — including prospective and current students, parents, alumni, the campus community, industry partners and more.
- Oversee and support the direction for content, events, intranet, licensing, market research, media, public relations, social, sponsorships, website, and visuals in alignment with the university brand.
- Oversee full implementation and governance of the university brand across audiences, internal and external partners, mediums, and platforms.
- Assess and shape direction for organizational structure with intentionality around cross-training and career laddering.
- Oversee brand and reputation management and assessment with the intent to enhance and elevate the profile and positioning of the university.
- Directly supervise the executive director of communication & media relations, the executive director of content, and strategic business partner positions.
- Cultivate a psychologically safe culture with emphasis on collaboration, development and talent management.
- Oversee and manage marketing & communication operating budget.
- Develop a marketing strategic plan in alignment with the university strategic plan and strategic enrollment plan.
- Support the development of creative briefs, marketing plans, and other resources to support partners.
- Develop and enhance relationships with collaborative partners – internal and externally.
- Support and direct large campus events – like commencement in collaboration with the President’s Office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the marketing & communication field
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience with audience management and stewardship, brand management and governance, content, media, design, intranet, magazine, and website management & design.
- Experience developing strategy, annual planning, implementation and execution.
- High level of collaboration, communication, and team spirit.
- Experience in developing and contributing to change and performance management-based culture.
