We are looking for:

Syensqo has an exciting opportunity for someone seeking an opportunity in research in our Tempe, AZ R&D facility! The Research Internship is a 12 week opportunity. The internship project will include conducting analytical experiments to understand the fundamental structure-property relationships that give our specialty polymers and composites their unique thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties.

What you will do:

+ The internship includes hands on wet chemistry and chemical engineering experience in a professional applications laboratory setting.

+ The methods used include but are not limited to the following; analysis of process stage efficiency, reading McCabe-Thiele diagrams, determining yields and outlet results, titrations, atomic absorption (AA) spectroscopy, preparation of dilutions and lab samples, maintaining lab stock chemicals, daily housekeeping and clean up, quality control and assurance, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

+ Each intern will be involved in a project of the company’s choosing and this project will be focus around one of the following areas; technology, applications, learning, or new product testing.

+ For the project to be labeled as completed the intern must complete all require laboratory test work, literature research, and prepare a written report for their direct manager. Some of these projects may include trade secrets or customer information which must stay confidential but other details will be able to be shared with Arizona State University to allow the intern to earn credit for the course.

What you will bring:

+ Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in material science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Graduating seniors will be considered.

+ High school diploma

+ The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $18.00 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
