Job Overview
The Government Account Director is responsible for executing market access strategies with assigned Government accounts, with an early focus on Medicaid and FFS Medicaid accounts. The GAD will develop strategic business plans, relationships, and access to stakeholders, and lead pull through at assigned accounts.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
· Lead and develop government account strategies for an optimal commercial launch.
· Manage federal and state market access portfolio including Department of Veterans Affairs, state Medicaid agencies, and Department of Defense
· Develop government access strategy, operational capabilities, pricing and contracting capabilities.
· Negotiate and manage contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
· Be a trusted advisor and expert in Sequel’s products and disease states with the ability to educate and ensure optimal pull-through effectiveness for access program offerings and workflow implementations.
· Monitor performance of government partners against contractual agreements. Modify contracts as needed to improve partner relations and operational effectiveness.
· Partner with Supply Chain and Finance regarding inventory management.
· Ensure data integrity and adequate data flows between the company and distributors.
· Comply with all regulatory regulations governing pharmaceutical marketing and the PhRMA code.

Minimum Requirements
· Bachelors degree
· 10+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of applicable state and national regulations
· Proven success in launching a new product
· Must have a valid drivers license
