At the Space Dynamics Laboratory, we take pride in and highly value our employees. We are seeking an Information Systems Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, customizing, and optimizing our Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence. This is pivotal in supporting our project management and software development processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and an in-depth understanding of Jira and Confluence capabilities.
As part of our team, you will address and troubleshoot issues within the Atlassian Suite, provide technical solutions to operational challenges, and contribute to system upgrades and releases. Your role will involve implementing new functionalities, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of Jira/Confluence instances, and engaging in advanced customizations, automations, and integrations. You will also collaborate closely with customers to define requirements for new and existing projects, playing a key role in enhancing our process management and software development efforts.
This position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in Jira and Confluence to drive efficiency and innovation within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Being a subject matter expert of both Jira and Confluence best practices and usage guidelines.
- Performing day-to-day administration for permissions, workflows, custom fields, etc.
- Resolving integration and user access issues, providing prompt support to user queries, and effectively resolving problems.
- Meeting with stakeholders to identify needs and implement appropriate solutions in Jira and Confluence.
- Evaluating, managing, and administering Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions to meet operational goals and needs.
- Creating and maintaining both technical and user-facing documentation.
- Continuously refining workflows and processes for better efficiency.
Required Qualifications: - BS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related field
- Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self‐motivated and customer-service oriented
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Preferred qualifications: - Experience with third-party applications administration
- 2+ years of Jira/Confluence administration
- Expert administration-level experience supporting Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence
- Experience with: JQL, SQL, ScriptRunner
- Experience with scripting languages like Java or Groovy
- Have a strong understanding of Jira and Confluence integrations and functions (marketplace add-ons)
- Able to translate highly technical matters in understandable terms to non-technical audience
