Job description
Fetch is seeking a Medical Biller for our Brandon location. If you love Veterinary Medicine and are detail oriented, look no further.
Veterinary Industry background is required.
The Medical Biller will work in conjunction with the Doctors and Nursing staff to provide accurate estimates of services to clients, and assist technicians with creating estimates prior to service. Help clients understand what services are listed in the estimate, expected costs of services prior to treatment, and deposit requirements. Daily updates to clients with current balances. Take additional deposits, and create updated estimates if needed. Review current invoices of in house patients to ensure accuracy. Review closed invoices for auditing to ensure billing is accurate across all specialty departments. This position will focus in the areas of client services, quality assurance, service excellence with both staff and clients.
Essential Functions
- Present treatment plan to clients after clinician has reviewed medical plans.
- Make sure deposit is collected and respond to any client financial concerns.
- Calculate and collect payments for medical procedures and services.
- Maintain financial communications to ensure all deposits are received and appropriate financial updates are given.
- Monitor the flow of the day, anticipate the need for revised estimates.
- Check in with the doctor and technicians consistently throughout the day; available to present estimates to clients throughout the day.
- Provide updates to clients and educate them as needed.
- Prepare invoices, and document amounts due to medical procedures and services.
- Managing the status of accounts and balances and identifying inconsistencies.
- Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Initiates refund requests when necessary.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting error or problems as needed.
- Performs audits and works in conjunction with the finance team.
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of hospital procedures, of spelling and meaning of commonly used terminology in veterinary medicine.
- Requires strong client service skills and the ability to act with compassion, empathy and diplomacy.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.
- Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications including MAC based systems to manage files, records and other office procedures.

Requirements
1. Knowledge of Veterinary software (Ezyvet, Cornerstone, Avimark, SmartFlow, Cubex)
2. 2yrs veterinary experience in customer service or vet tech
3. High School Diploma Required; College Degree Preferred
