Job description
Kelaca is seeking a Database Architect and Administrator to work with our client partner in Reston, VA. The Company’s Software Enterprise Division is seeking a highly qualified Database Architect/Administrator to design, develop, and implement solutions for the Intelligence and Defense communities. The Database Architect/Administrator will be at the forefront of customer’s transformation into a modern, data-centric organization.
As a valued member of their team, the Database Architect/Administrator will:
- Collaborate horizontally and vertically across multiple teams to create and optimize the customer’s data holdings.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership on database technologies, implementations, and data model strategies.
- Establish ontologies and data governance best practices.
- Design, implement, and monitor database implementations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work mostly on-site and will have extensive interaction with customers, clients, and other contractors.
Database Architect/Administrator Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Due to the work you will perform and interactions with the intelligence community and DoD programs, a TS security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with 8-10 years of relevant work experience OR MS with 6-8 years of relevant work experience.
- Relocation to Reston, VA.
- Minimal travel to support customer and client meetings.
- Experience with at least one modern software development ecosystem, such as Python, and comfortable implementing quick-turnaround, proof of concept solutions in that ecosystem.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL (PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch, primarily.)
- Ability to communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Database Architect/Administrator Preferences:
- TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.
- Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
- DoD 8570 IAT II Status. (e.g., Security+, CSSP, etc.)
- Experience working in secure environments.
- Experience working cloud and/or hybrid cloud environments.
- Monitoring and database management strategies.
Security Clearance Requirements:
The projects that will be assigned involve government work and US Citizenship is required. Selected applicant are required to come in with a Top Secret Security Clearance with he ability to obtain SCI status.

Job Type: Full-time
Hours of On-Site Work: Monday-Friday; 8 am - 5 pm
FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
