My name is Rob Stevens, Skilled Trades recruiter with Aerotek. We are looking for multiple motivated and reliable Pipe Welders for a great company in Chattanooga. Here are some details about the responsibilities and the qualifications needed:

Pipe Welder

Fitting and welding pipes and other metal components in a manufacturing setting. Repair pipes and construct new pipes using welding and fabrication equipment . Using measuring, cutting, and welding tools to cut and alter metal materials for repairs and new projects. Must have great attention to detail, as the work is often delicate.

• Fitting and welding - MIG and TIG
• Pipe welding
• Setting up welding and fabrication equipment and making adjustments as needed for quality assurance
• Using basic math to calculate and convert decimals and fractions as needed
• Check welding processes to avoid overheating, of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material, etc.
• Troubleshooting
• Complete measuring, cutting, grinding, beveling, welding, and other metal fabrication tasks
• Using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and checking parts against blueprints for quality assurance

Must-Have Experience:

• Pipe welding
• 3+ years experience as a welder
• MIG and TIG welding
• Fitting
• Blueprint reading
• Metal fabrication - measuring, cutting, grinding, beveling, finishing metal products and preparing them to weld
• Basic math
• Mechanical abilities, hand and power tool usage

Top Qualifications that equate to higher pay:

• Ability to pass 6G straight pipe weld test
• Verifying final weld penetration and aesthetics
• Welding according to all appropriate codes and procedures
• Completion of related apprenticeship program, formal education, or equivalent training

Other Beneficial Qualifications:

AWS, ASME, welding codes, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, flux core, stick, steel, aluminum, carbon, stainless steel, copper, titanium, alloys, blueprints, hydraulics, pneumatics, schematics, tolerances, fabrication, GD&T, laser cutting, torch cutting, burn table, plasma table, brake press, press brake, stamping, machining, lathes, mills, CNC, tooling, tool & die, manual machining, ultrasound, x-ray, etc.

Pay: $26-$33/hr, depending on experience

Shift: 1st - roughly 6:30am to 4:00pm

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with OT on Saturdays as needed

Weekly hours: probably 50-58 per week
