Responsibilities:
- Key member of Controllership function at Sol-Ark. Will apply GAAP while performing all Controllership activities.
- Monitor the entry of all transactions in accounting system and will perform daily, weekly and monthly routines to ensure transactions are properly recorded in general ledger accounts, including, but not limited to, cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
- Developing and analyzing cost standards
- Enter accounting journals as necessary to record payments.
- Execute all payroll reporting and maintain payroll reporting systems. Develop in conjunction with HR and IT, reports for account reconciliations, audits and other payroll reporting functions as required.
- Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to assure they are adequately supported and documented.
- Prepare and enter regular entries as required by the Company's Accounting Policies.
- Execute assigned monthly closing processes in timely fashion.
- Ensure all important controls over accounting entries are designed and operating.
- Support the annual financial audit performed by external auditors.
- Complete assigned balance sheet and income statement analytics and explain reasons for large variances.
- Improve processes and deliverables by automating and refining within Controllership and other areas outside of Finance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- CPA Required.
- Audit experience - Highly Preferred!
- 3-7 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Experience identifying risks to assess whether controls are operating correctly.
- Financial statement knowledge including connectivity between Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements in addition to disclosure requirements.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with research and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to research general ledger entries and construct correction.
- Experience with payroll processing systems.
- Experience with ERP systems and/or QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with Excel (can perform complex functions).
