Job description
Job Summary:
The Part-time AM Server at The Sheraton Palo Alto is responsible for providing exceptional guest service and ensuring that all restaurant operations run smoothly during the breakfast and lunch shift. This individual will be an integral part of our hospitality team, working towards creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a part-time hourly position with a starting pay of $20 per hour. The employee will be paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, benefits may include access to hotel discounts, meal discounts, and opportunities for career growth within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing them with menus and answering any questions they may have
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that special requests and allergies are noted
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to hotel standards and guest preferences
- Ensure that all food and drinks are presented in an attractive manner and served at the correct temperature
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the dining area, including clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and resetting table settings
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food and beverage items
- Handle guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating to management if necessary
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
- Attend and actively participate in all required training and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu items and their ingredients
- Basic math skills for order taking and handling cash transactions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a flexible schedule and able to work on call as needed
