R Summary
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Director of Urgent Care Operations to oversee the development and operations for Atlantic Health System’s Urgent Care Centers. The Urgent Care Centers will consist of all existing and future traditional Urgent Care Centers that are owned and operated by Atlantic Health through full or partial ownership. The current Centers include, but are not limited to, Immediate Care Medical Walk-In locations, Atlantic Health Urgent Care locations, and Atlantic Urgent Care locations.

The New Jersey network includes Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, Newton Medical Center in Newton, Chilton Medical center in Pompton Plains, Hackettstown Medical Center in Hackettstown, Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown and Atlantic Rehabilitation and Atlantic Home Care and Hospice.
Responsibilities
- Work with VP of Ambulatory Services, Urgent Care Network Medical Director, and Director of Ambulatory Ventures to expand AHS’s urgent care network through acquisition or development. Work directly with Urgent Care Medical Directors, Clinical Directors, and Managers to understand operations and facilitate transition into the AHS organization.
- Work with AHS Human Resources, Epic team, ISS support, Radiology, Construction, Lab, Marketing, Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Finance, Payer Contracting and Risk Management to develop or transition entities.
- Lead the successful development of existing urgent care centers, as well as the timely opening of new urgent care centers.
- Responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the Urgent Care Centers and resolving issues through partnering with Medical Directors, Practice Administrators, Office Managers, and support departments.
- Responsible for creating and maintining budgets and operating within them through maintaining costs, vendor agreements, patient billing, staffing, bill payments and supplies, without compromising patient care, quality, and the patient experience.
- Monitor monthly financials including visits and budget. Create and support budget control initiatives. Support the creation, development and implementation of programs and strategies to increase the utilization of the Urgent Care Centers.
- Maintain and continue to develop an organizational culture at both the company office as well as urgent care center locations to achieve ongoing excellence and effective growth with the highest integrity.
- Coordinate with Network and Regional Medical Directors, Practice Administrators, and Office Managers to ensure delivery of quality patient care and achieve patient satisfaction.
- Oversee Urgent Care Practice Administrators and Office Managers, as well as work with Medical Directors in the day-to-day management of both clinical and administrative operations.
- Work with AHS and Immediate Care Marketing department in ventures and outreach to grow patient awareness of facilities and its services, with the overall goal to increase patient volumes.
- Work with AHS Network Development department and Immediate Care Business Development department in growing patient visits, as well as establishing beneficial relationships through townships, committees, and more.
- Work with AHS and Immediate Care Human Resources department in regard to staffing, conflict resolution, and other HR responsibilities.
- Work with AHS and Immediate Care Compliance department to ensure all Urgent Care Centers remain in compliance of each center as to federal, state, and local law, as well as any accrediting boards in both clinical and general business operations.
- Work with AHS and Immediate Care Accounting department to provide oversight of medical billing and coding team and responsibilities of the third party billing company.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare management, or related study required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Clinical work experience is preferred
Relevant Experience
- 5 years of related management experience at the executive level required, including three or more years’ experience in the administrative of health care organization.
- Strong quantitative, analytical skills and a business acumen.
- Ability to effectively manage through traditional and adverse situations and operations.
- Strong cost containment, organizational, and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to encourage and motivate a team utilizing collaborative methods.
Work Environment
- Position requires the ability to travel between sites.
Education
