BWXT is currently looking for positions for Fuel Processing Tech B.
Description / Duties :
Support of the various fuels based programs within the SFF area, include but are not limited to the following: performing a variety of functions related to fuel fabrication processes within the SFF area. Individual will prepare chemical solutions (consisting of acids, bases and organics) and use these solutions to modify the form of Uranium based materials. Fuel process steps include weighing, mixing, heat treating, blending and sampling. Individual will be required to work through glove box type enclosures and/or ventilated hoods. All fuel handling (solid, fine powder, liquid, wastes and scrap) is performed per area procedures. Will be responsible for maintaining production and quality records and perform routine maintenance as required.
Job Qualifications / Requirements :
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is expected to be $30.09 per hour. The anticipated rate following successful progression in the role is expected to be $35.82 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
