Responsible of production operation area, responsible to coordinate production team requirements with the rest of support areas. Responsible of meeting customer demand and keep cost under the budget
Essential Functions:
- The production superintendent will lead problem solving activities and implement countermeasures and long term corrective actions.
- They will contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives in all aspects of their job and encourage all subordinates to do the same.
- They will be responsible for training all personnel within the assembly department to meet the company's target on productivity and efficiency and manage within the scheduled financial budget.
- The production superintendent is responsible for ensuring all training within the department is completed in a timely manner, and is documented and posted at each work station, providing on-the-job retraining as required.
- They will maintain all production related records in an organized and tidy manner, using sound judgment in dispersing confidential information related to employees data.
- The production superintendent will support and contribute to the Quality Systems and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
- They will ensure all assembly personnel are following the Quality System and conform to quality standards.
- They will ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition.
- The production superintendent will ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, and packaging instructions are being followed at all times.
- They will ensure all first off/last off procedures are being followed at all times.
- The production superintendent will make sure Layers Process Audits are performed on schedule, and will follow up to close any outstanding issues within a reasonable time frame.
- They will oversee and maintain inventory levels of parts produced to meet scheduled targets.
- The production superintendent will coordinate with other departments to ensure no unnecessary interruption of production requirements.
- They will provide regular constructive feedback and communication to subordinates formally and informally on company policies, work procedures and work standards etc. and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures at all times.
- The production supervisor will make recommendations to the assembly business unit manager on the confirmation and/or disposition of employees within their probationary period.
- They will assist in providing management reports and documentation of key measurables as required.
- The production superintendent will maintain a system of communicating ongoing departmental performance to subordinates on a regular basis.
- They will ensure good housekeeping for the department and areas are tidy and organized at all times.
- They will ensure subordinates follow Company policies on Health, Safety & Environment and PPE requirements.
Qualifications:
- College diploma and/or combination of Grade 12 with minimum 5 years of hands-on Supervisory experience in a related field
- Good working knowledge of assembly and welding operations
- Excellent English Communication Skills (oral and written)
- Basic knowledge of computer skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision and/or directions
- Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player and a team leader
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent motivator and mentor
