Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE :

The SIZZLE!® classroom teacher is required to maintain and/or improve reading levels in at-risk children in the Easton Area School District, grades k indergarten through fifth during a six-week summer program .

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

The teacher follows the research-based curriculum and manages daily class activities to promote Literacy and encourage parents to participate in their child's experience at SIZZLE!® .

DUTIES :

Manage daily classroom activities using research-based lessons, maintain the standard daily schedule, and supervise aides

Teach children through play, reading, songs, and other developmentally appropriate activities

Promote reading skills, writing skills, language fluency, and create a language-rich environment

Create lesson plans and plan accordingly

Administe r assessments

Track student attendance

Distribute, collect, and record completion of homework/ activities

Supervise entry to and from the school

Supervise and assist children during recess, breakfast, lunch, and classroom routines

Monitor the general welfare and safety of children

Assist in the development of good health habits, positive manners and social relationships

Engage parents and children during Family Nights

Complete light housekeeping duties and maintain equipment and supplies

Develop and maintain positive relationships with school personnel

Attend scheduled staff meetings
