LOCATION: Manhattan (suburban community, about 30 minutes to Manhattan) PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY: Located in a suburban community about 30 minutes to Manhattan, several Laboratory Supervisors are needed for a variety of departments at a hospital. They include Microbiology, General and Chemistry Labs. These excellent professional opportunities are due to growth and expansion. Work Schedules: Day and Night Shifts are available. Requirements: New York State Clinical Laboratory License is required. Previous supervisory experience would be a plus but is not required. Duties|Responsibilities of the Laboratory Supervisor Supervise both Medical Technicians and Clinical Lab Scientists. Responsible for scheduling and supervising lab personnel. Accountable for both quantity and quality of specimens as well as test results. Collaborate with other departments (Blood Bank, Hematology, Central Processing and Histology) to resolve problems and potential problems. Keep costs and expenses within the budgetary guidelines of the department. Monitor and review the proficiency of testing. Remedy of instrument failures and fixing reagent|quality control issues Handling the delays in testing as well as the communication of abnormal results.
