Mid-Range for Perm : $125,000
As the Director of Surgical Services, you will lead the perioperative team with a focus on ensuring safe patient care and effective operations management. This role entails 24/7 responsibility for the surgical departments.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and address real or potential issues affecting service delivery, implementing solutions with clear communication and follow-through.
- Actively engage in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, ensuring ongoing communication with represented parties.
- Enhance the customer experience within Surgical Services.
- Provide coaching to subordinates through feedback, constructive critique, and individual development plans, while documenting job performance.
- Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
- Effectively communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
- Foster evidence-based employee engagement practices.
- Build strong relationships and networks to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
- Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
- Enforce standards of care for surgical services, developing processes for consistent compliance measurement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program ensuring quality patient care aligned with the Hospital's mission.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for environmental, patient, and personnel safety.
- Oversee a Performance Improvement (PI) program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
Who Will Be a Great Fit?
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice required.
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification preferred.
