Job description

Our manufacturing client in Kent is looking for a well-rounded Accountant or Full Charge Bookkeeper to add to their growing team and work onsite daily. The Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper will be completely responsible for semi-monthly, full cycle payroll for 200+ employees in multiple states using Paylocity as well as assisting with monthly/annual close and light job cost reporting. This position will focus approximately 50% on payroll and 50% on the general ledger.

Duties for the Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper include:

• Process Semi-monthly Payroll including verifying timecards, holidays, misc earnings/deductions, etc.
• Monitoring new hires and ensuring benefit deductions begin timely and accurately
• Maintain Paylocity’s payroll module (HR responsible for HR/Benefits modules)
• Ensure taxes remitted by Paylocity are accurate
• Record Cash Flows and Payroll Journal Entries
• Reconcile payroll related G/L’s
• Reconcile benefit invoices from vendors to Paylocity and ensure EE benefit deductions are accurate
• Ensure W2 accuracy at year end
• Perform year end updates and clean ups
• Calculate YE 401k Match, year end profit sharing calculations
• Posting daily inventory transactions
• Monthly G/L Recons of numerous balance sheet accounts (in addition to payroll related ones above) including ensuring AR/AP aging matches the GL
• Provide support for monthly/qtly physical inventories
• Reconcile WIP accounts and keep track of project statuses

• Record and balance Fixed Assets and Monthly Depreciation

Desired Qualifications for the Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper include::

• Degree in accounting or a strong practical experience (5+ years) highly desired
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist

• A grasp and/or interest in cost accounting

Salary:$65-85K a year DOE
