Job description

Miss Ada is looking for a general manager to lead the original restaurant in our growing company. We are looking for someone who has experience in all roles in the dining room, who has at least a year of management experience. We are very excited about the opportunity to train a floor manager or service manager who is looking to take on greater leadership. 

Miss Ada is a lively, busy, neighborhood restaurant. Our goal is to craft meaningful experiences for all of our guests through joyful and compassionate service, and are excited to welcome a manager to help shape our amazing team. This role would be the senior leadership position at Miss Ada, reporting directly to our chef owner and director of operations. We are searching for a candidate who shares our love and passion for food, natural wine, and hospitality, and isn't afraid to work hands on throughout the restaurant space.

This role is perfect for someone with 5+ years of work in restaurants who is pursuing a career in hospitality and is looking for a long term role within a growing company.  

The role will include but is not limited to:

• Responding to email inquiries and assisting with planning large parties
• Scheduling front of house staff
• Hiring, training and disciplining restaurant staff
• Attending to the restaurant during brunch and dinner service
• Running food and drinks
• Serving wine
• Bussing and cleaning tables
• Addressing any guest issues
• Administrative duties such as but not limited to: inventory, opening & closing procedures, cash handling and paid outs
• Coordinating with a floor manager and lead bartender to ensure all areas of the restaurant are functioning.
• Helping to maintain a safe, secure, healthy work environment for staff
• Ensuring sanitation standards and DOH procedures are being met
• Ensuring guests are satisfied with their dining experience
• Wine stocking/cellar organization

Qualifications:

5+ years experience in a restaurant similar to Miss Ada
1+ years of management experience

NYC Food Handler’s Certification
