Job description


Trident Technical College is a public, two-year, multi-campus community college with a mission to serve as a catalyst for personal, community, and economic development by empowering individuals through education and training.

 
Under the supervision of the associate dean the Health Information Management Instructor primary responsibilities are to instruct in the Health Information Management program. The faculty member is responsible for teaching courses; coordinating clinical instruction, including procuring clinical sites and managing student clinical experiences; designing and developing curriculum; evaluating student performance; and advising students.This position requires an associate degree or higher in a healthcare-related field, with preference to a degree in Health Information Management, and two (2) years of related healthcare work experience. Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Health Information Management and teaching experience.Ideal candidates will have certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and coding credentials through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or AAPC is preferred. The Candidate will have related healthcare experience, including health records verifying completeness, accuracy, and data entry; computer applications collect and analyze patient data, improving patient care, controlling costs, and ensuring legal and ethical compliance experience; and diagnostic and procedure coding for reimbursement and research, health information privacy and security, and healthcare quality and performance improvement. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
