Process Excellence Project Manager Synopsys is the industry leader in providing cutting edge emulation, simulation and prototyping hardware and software solutions. These solutions are provided to chip manufacturing companies who are engineering next generation chip development from design to silicon. Hardware comprises primarily of emulation and prototyping systems. Emulation enables SoC verification and software bring-up and address the exploding verification requirements of SoC end-users, while prototyping enables early embedded software development and high-performance system validation prior to the final SoC. We are looking for responsive, dedicated individuals to contribute to the Systems Design Group (SD) hardware Operations team.
Job Description: The Process Excellence Project Manager (PM) will work cross-functionally with team members in a high-tech, highly energized, team-oriented environment. This individual will be accountable for planning and executing projects involving cross-functional teams while using lean six sigma tools & methodologies.
Emphasis will be on ensure mutual understanding of the way-forward on projects and permanently improving operational processes. Also, through demonstrated use of lean six sigma tools, it is expected the Process Excellence PM will positively affect the company culture with structured approach(es) to problem solving and process improvement.
Projects will be mostly related to enabling efficient information flow, and hand-offs and execution within and between functions. Processes may include supply chain, production planning, product data management, procurement processes, product return processes and logistics. Technical problem solving on complex products may also be required.
Role & Responsibility: - Promotes and encourages team members to achieve desired future states with diplomacy, encouragement, and a "can-do" and helpful approach.
- Builds effective process improvement teams by identifying and partnering with project sponsors, cross-functional team members and by ensuring active engagement with those functional groups/departments accordingly.
- Utilizes lean six sigma to understand current state problems & processes, enable collaborative problem solving and to develop focused, prioritized action-plans.
- Ensures that activities are well-defined, tracked and integrated, emphasizing teamwork with other functions and key stakeholders. Tracks projects at both granular (task/issue level) as well as dashboard and macro-level.
- Overall strong bias for action to prioritize activities, keep things moving and to drive action items to closure. Utilizes a hands-on approach as needed.
- Deliverables-oriented. Dedicated to establishing permanent improvements by releasing process improvement deliverables such as IT-enabled tools or processes, process maps, work instructions, training materials, control plans, etc. Discontinues legacy processes as needed.
- When necessary, fulfills the role of process owner where no process owner previously exists.
- Facilitates problem solving and identification of root cause and corrective actions on selected technical issues.
- Presents process excellence project status updates for weekly / monthly management reviews.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8 years relevant experience in operational excellence projects.
- Experienced in lean six sigma problem solving tools and methodologies. Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt Certified, Lean Experience. Design for Six Sigma is a plus.
- Experience providing Lean Six Sigma training is a plus.
- Must have led or co-led a minimum of 8, full-cycle Lean Six Sigma projects and/or Kaizen events/workshops. Emphasis on improvement workshops or kaizens for administrative process or IT-enabled process improvements is a plus.
- Experienced with project management fundamentals (project planning, action item tracking, scheduling, executing and monitoring). Experience using Jira or MS Teams for managing projects is a plus.
- Experience mapping complex information flow processes across multiple sites, organizations, and functions. Experience using MS Visio or equivalent process mapping software is required (Visio is preferred).
- Experience with high volume electronics is preferred, including contract manufacturer business model, as well as exposure to product data management processes, supply chain, production planning, procurement processes, product return processes and logistics.
- Experience with manufacturing value stream mapping and value stream process improvement is a plus.
- Experience with Minitab or other statistical software, Power BI or other tools is a plus. MS office, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of, or work experience with Lean Manufacturing JIT manufacturing, Total Quality Management.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $111,000-$194,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
