Job Summary
The GIS Technician maintains a highly utilized and distributed database that supports DT Midstream’s day-to-day activities. Is proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures and assists other GIS staff. Demonstrates the ability to take on larger assignments, while maintaining efficiencies and quality. Have proven their ability to enhance the products being developed and shows moderate knowledge of complex methods.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate and maintain GIS databases and ensure their accuracy and integrity
- Edit data in a versioned, ESRI ArcGIS enterprise geodatabase environment
- Process and load pipeline data in a variety of formats into DTM’s enterprise geodatabase
- Identify missing data and work with applicable DTM teams to solve data gaps
- Maintain GIS data in state one call/811 systems and support data submissions to pipeline regulatory agencies
- Generate reports and summaries from the enterprise geodatabase and distribute to applicable DTM teams
- Support the generation of static and web/mobile mapping products
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Must have an associate degree in GIS or related field.
- Competent in the use of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office Products.
Other Qualifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a GIS related field and 1-3 years of pipeline industry experience.
- Working knowledge of pipeline engineering plans as well as parcel and right-of-way data.
- Ability to automate GIS tasks using python scripts or model builder.
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Geodatabase administration
