Position Summary:
Assist Strategic Pricing Manager for a division. Responsible for proactively analyzing and making recommendations considering customer value-based marketing, competitive markets, and company costs affecting the business plans and profitability across the Division, will collect, analyze, and evaluate data supporting divisions' price to resistance strategy.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to the Division Strategic Pricing Manager and can have subordinates. Interact with the Corporate, Group and Division personnel. Will directly support Division Strategic Pricing Manager, product managers, and Division management.
Essential Functions:
Prepares quotations for new business opportunities. Applies appropriate price guidelines and bid strategy for quotation to customer RFQs. Adheres to quotation approval process.
Leads effective quotation preparation for large opportunities with cross-functional divisional staff teams. Assists in the closing of new business.
Assists in analyzing division product markets determining the ceiling and floor prices of products. Evaluates cause and effect with pricing, volume, cost, competition, distribution, and segmentation. Recommends appropriate levels.
Monitors and keeps divisions focused on corporate strategic pricing initiatives. Responsible for creating and reinforcing continuous feedback vehicles to encourage successful pricing models. Works with IT staff in design and implementation of tools for measuring and monitoring pricing effectiveness and efficiency.
Assists Division Pricing Manager in determining appropriate list prices, standard discounts and rebates and managing any restructuring, updating, communication and publication of price increases.
Analyzes the exception pricing process by recommending guidelines and authority levels and maintaining a disciplined and structured approach to exception pricing.
Provides management with reports which allows management to effectively respond to changing economic conditions and market changes. Performs ongoing measurements and reporting on pricing effectiveness.
