The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD is seeking candidates to fill the full-time position of High School Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The ideal candidate is a student-centered educator with demonstrated excellence in the teaching of mathematics and 21st century skills. They are passionate about the math and students they teach and employ a wide range of pedagogical approaches. Their classroom is a dynamic space where students are applying concepts learned while gaining an understanding of the mathematical concepts at hand.
The successful candidate is creative and collaborative and has demonstrated success at and enjoys working as an active member of a team. They have demonstrated classroom management skills and are comfortable and successful working with a range of learners. Experience in differentiated instruction and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is calculated according to a school-wide pay scale.
Responsibilities:
Teaching Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and/or Statistics
Participating in team meetings to review curriculum and discuss student progress
Working collaboratively within the Math Department and High School Faculty
Participating in team meetings to review curriculum and discuss student progress
Student advising
Other duties as assigned by the High School Principal
Minimum least three years of successful teaching experience in collaborative working environments
Experience in differentiated instruction, student-centered instruction and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred
Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) required
