Responsibilities:
The Payroll Accountant position is part of the Finance Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
Process payroll for hourly and salaried associates on a bi-weekly basis
Ensures that payroll processed timely and accurately.
Work with all levels of organization to assist them with completion of payroll related tasks.
Process and approve actions input by managers to ensure completeness for payroll processing.
Responsible for completing payroll reconciliations, payroll accounting, testing, and payroll tax .
Run payroll reports – standard and custom.
Account Analysis, for assigned accounts includes researching transactions and problem solving.
Managing Quarterly and Annual payroll related tax returns.
Supports annual external audit and maintains continuous financial internal controls.
Review, research, and respond to team member questions regarding pay issues.
Process and calculate retirement earnings such as: 401(k) contributions, Profit sharing and 401(k) Employer match true ups.
Complete yearly payroll, 401k, and payroll true-ups, bonus and profit-sharing calculations, compliance testing, etc., by the government deadlines.
Fulfills all governmental regulatory mandates and ensures filings are performed as required .
Manage Employment Verifications.
Filling unemployment paperwork with local authorities.

Requirements:
Required: 3-5 years of payroll processing experience.
2-5 years Accounting General Ledger experience and ability to understand payroll GL mapping.
Ensures Process Technology remains compliant with myriad and ever-changing local, state, and federal requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, UKG Ready, strong written and oral communication.
Plan, organize, schedule, and execute in an efficient and productive manner. Focus on key priorities.
Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it.
Does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project.
Compensation
This position is full-time, exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
