Job description
Health and Safety Manager, Day Shift.
Wages: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Plan, implement and coordinate safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions and ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws/regulations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain Safety policies and procedures. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect overall organization.
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
- Receives assignment in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules/goals.
- Measure safety performance IFR, LTCR and Safety Observations.
- Inform and update all Associates on company safety policies and procedures.
- Act as a communication link between Associates and Management.
- Coordinate the activities of the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Lead instructor of safety training program(s). Facilitate/Coordinate training at all levels.
- Establish and maintain a program for accident and near-miss reporting and investigations (injury and property damage) and make recommendations for prevention. Oversee investigations of all safety related accidents/incidents.
- Coordinate the activities of outside inspectors from local, state and federal agencies and insurance companies.
- Select personal protection devices suited to the Associate's exposure and monitor its usage. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Serve as DBG safety representative to the community, public authorities, or regulatory groups to enhance public relations.
- Perform/Coordinate audiograms, pulmonary function tests, and other medical surveillance as necessary to ensure the health and wellbeing of Associates.
EDUCATION REQUIRED High School Diploma/GED with 8 years industrial safety/hygiene and 2 years of management experience.
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED At least 8 years industrial safety/hygiene experience with 2 years of management experience.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS Frequent interaction at all levels across the organization and as spokesperson for the Company as safety representative.
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Manages professionals and directly supervises the activities involving safety of overall facility with responsibility for results, including costs and methods.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Authority in all safety matters. Hands on use of computer and related systems. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Some Travel may be required.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services (ADWS) is the state agency responsible for providing job-related services to unemployed state residents, such as coordinating training and educational opportunities, processing unemployment insurance claims, and connecting job seekers with employment opportunities in the state.
The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services consists of four major sections: Workforce Services, Adult Education, Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, and Services for the Blind.
