Job description
Position: Cloud Engineer Intermediate
Location: Remote Work
Duration: Fulltime with CompQsoft
Client: United States Coast Guard(USCG)
Security Clearance: DOD active secret clearance required.
Certifications: Must possess IAT-II Level certification.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing technology and preparing for cloud transformation/migrations
- Optimizing the architecture before, during, or after cloud migrations
- Migrating, operating, and optimizing databases on the cloud
- Implementing measures for cloud security
- Create virtual servers that meet system requirements.
- Ensure that virtual appliances are cyber compliant.
- Install required software packages according to policy, rules, and regulations, i.e., End Point Security Software, DS Logon, etc.
- Provide a Patch Management standard operating procedure to include but not limited to patch implementation schedule, patch testing, and patch download schedule.
- Ensure that identity access control mechanisms are compliant with DISA cybersecurity controls.
- Provide support to create a data lake within the cloud provider.
- Support, implement, and engineer a data lake within the cloud provider as directed but the government representative.
- Ability to install any patches or security updates that have been tested and adjudicated as directed.
- Create and support virtual network appliances to support the data lake and data verse instances within the cloud tenant subscription.
- Support migration of on-premise appliances to cloud based / virtual appliances.
- Have understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and government networks.
- Managing and optimizing the use of cloud resources
- Works with current system engineering team to support as necessary
Required Skills:
- The Candidate must possess the minimum Education / Qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) years of Cloud administrator/Engineering experience
- Experience in Cloud administration in a government environment
- Experienced in principles, practices, or procedures used in phases of life cycle applications and systems development, or engineering, or programming, or analysis.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or Associates Degree (A.A./A.S.) in a related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.
- This is an IAT-II Level/PU Position. MUST possess CompTIA SEC+ or equivalent.
- Must Possess AZ-104-Azure Administrator Associate Certification or equivalent
- Must possess Active Secret Clearance
- Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate must possess strong oral communication and written comprehension capabilities.
