Position Type: Full Time, Direct Hire

Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000

 

Position Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you will serve as the primary customer liaison for reporting and external failures while also acting as an internal liaison for quality problems, problem-solving, and continuous improvement activities within our organization. This role may require extensive domestic and international travel.

 

Quality Engineer Essential Job Functions:

  1. Analyze and manage customer returns, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  2. Investigate and address the root causes of quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  3. Monthly PPM Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly PPM (Parts Per Million) reports for both customer and internal purposes.
  4. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with quality control plans, inspection standards, and FMEA.
  5. Act as a key point of contact for customers, the Quality Engineer participates in meetings, planning sessions, and documentation.
  6. Collaborate with the production department to maintain the quality of parts during manufacturing.
  7. Conduct analysis of warranty parts when requested by the Warranty Quality Engineer.
  8. Create inspection standards and resolve SQPR (Supplier Quality Problem Report) issues related to service parts.
  9. Report daily Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities on the plant floor.
  10. Lead Daily Strike Team Meetings: Lead daily meetings until issues are resolved and closed out.
  11. Provide guidance and support to Quality Control Technicians in their decision-making process.
  12. Take the lead in identifying and improving top issues related to scrap with the Production Department.
  13. Encourage and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by submitting innovative ideas.
  14. Utilize your knowledge of IATF systems to lead internal and external quality audits.

 

Quality Engineer Experience and Education Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline highly preferred. Will consider associates or no degree with more years of experience.
  2. 5 or more years of experience working in a Tier 1 automotive plant as a Quality Engineer.
  3. Experience working with Tier 1 OEMs (strong customer exposure).
  4. Experience in the launch of new vehicle programs.
  5. Experience with gauges and gauge makers.
  6. Experience and knowledge in working with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  7. Experience with standard quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
