Job Summary:
About the Role & Team
As a Data Scientist Intern at Disney Branded Television Technology, you'll be part of an innovative and collaborative team committed to advancing our data-driven culture. You'll be able to work on real-world problems, contributing to meaningful projects that impact our productions and products.
What You Will Do
Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Employ statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to analyze large datasets, uncover insights, and assist decision-making processes.
Machine Learning Projects:
- Participate in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to tackle complex business challenges.
Data Visualization:
- Build compelling visualizations to communicate sophisticated data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborative Projects:
- Work closely with various teams, including engineering, product management, and marketing, to understand their data needs and deliver effective solutions.
Research and Learning:
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in data science and machine learning and share findings with the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Strong foundation in statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming (e.g., Javascript, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Education
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Additional Information
Am I Eligible?
- At the time of application, you must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) before participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Must provide full work availability.
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June - August/September 2024. Interns must be fully available for the duration of a 12-week assignment.
- Please note the safety and well-being of our teams is very important to us. Based on government recommendations, we will determine whether this program will be in-person at our Glendale, CA studio or virtual in the coming months.
The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA, is $35.00 per hour.
