Job description

The Director of Pre-Health Advising at Brandeis oversees the University's Pre-Health Advising team and provides individual and group advising to students interested in pursuing acceptance into medical school, dental school, veterinary school, and other allied health profession schools (including physician assistant, physical therapy, optometry, and podiatry).  The Director chairs the Board of Pre-Health Advisors, a faculty and staff committee which provides evaluative information for the committee letter, and manages the Brandeis committee letter process. With colleagues, the Director composes or supervises the drafting of approximately 120 composite letters of support for candidates each year.  The Director supervises a team who are responsible for assessment of program effectiveness, development of innovative initiatives to prepare pre-health students for their future career path, advancing efforts to support underrepresented students pursuing health professions careers, and maintenance of the pre-health website and other on-line tools as well as the publication of any print materials.  As a member of the leadership team in Academic Services, the Director also works collaboratively with the staff and programs in Academic Services and with our campus partners.
