Job description
Plans, oversees, organizes, and directs OCOM’s Office of Student Support programs and activities; ensures that assigned functions fulfill institutional goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs the day-to-day operations of the OCOM Office of Student Support
- Supports the OCOM-approved policies and ensures that they are adhered to
- Creates, implements, and oversees integrated plans comprising targeted programs and services designed to provide individualized structured assistance for students with academic challenges. The plans are proactive, sustained, and implemented to enhance student success and develop independent, self-motivated learners.
- Creates, manages, and runs the learning specialist program.
- Creates, implements, and oversees data-driven programs and services to meet the unique needs of the most academically challenged students with the goal of increasing retention and graduation.
- Creates, manages, and implements peer tutor programs
- Works collaboratively with Academic Advisors to monitor student progress and provide interventional support
- Schedule and monitor the use of academic services and resources including tutoring, and suggestions of data-driven interventions.
- Works with faculty and course directors for best practices to improve student outcomes
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, college, and other outside agency rules and regulations
- Ensures confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Assists in accreditation functions, including document creation, data collection, data entry, education of staff on accreditation, and other accreditation-related functions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years (or Bachelor and 10 years) of full-time experience in a student learning role
- Previous experience as a Learning Specialist at an Osteopathic or Allopathic Medical College is preferred.
- A team player who values cooperation, mutual support, and team cohesion
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be local to the Central Florida area.
