Job description
Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding educator for the position of Lower School Librarian. The key credential for this role is a love of books and a passion for sharing that love with young children. The responsibilities of the librarian include teaching regular library classes with students in pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade, arranging author visits to the school, maintaining resources (physical and virtual), managing the collection, and collaborating with homeroom teachers and specialists on projects and events. Above all else, the role of the librarian at the school is to foster a love of reading and to encourage students to read as broadly and deeply—and as much—as possible. The role may be filled in either a part-time or full-time capacity, depending on assigned responsibilities.
Successful candidates will be flexible, open-minded and eager to join a collaborative faculty. They will be excited to work in a rigorous academic environment and to immerse themselves in the school community. We expect all GA educators to be enthusiastic learners themselves and to be dedicated to sustaining a culture of anti-racism and anti-bias in our community.
